Practice shot 3 Lea leaning over tree

This Practice scene is of Lea looking around a tree in an attempt to locate her follower. This will add to the suspense due to the fact that after she has finished looking the audience will then realise that the person/ thing is following is behind her, adding to the suspense/ tension of the scene.

Practice shot 2 Lea being watched by something (POV)

Lea is being watched by something in the woods. Whilst this POV shot is taking place there will be a green filter over the screen to show that the person that is watching/ following her is not human.

Practice shot 1 Lea walking over paper (Twig)

This is a low angle shot of the main character running over a peace of paper. However in the film the peace of paper will be twigs. Whilst this scene is taking place there will be sound effects f twigs snapping to overall emphasise that Lea the main character is in a forest.

Location

Location
The first location will be outside Lea's house in an urban setting. We have chosen this location because it gives the audience a sense that the main character Lea might potentially be in danger.

The second location will be within a forest. This location was chosen because there are a range of hiding spots available in the woods, which will work well in our chase scene.

The third location is within Lea's bedroom. Here we will get a range of close ups and establishing shots to get a sense of character.

The final location will be Lea's bathroom.

Task 28 : Analysis of a students use of sound

31. Pharez Vitalis, Eray Kara, Yuksel Yilmaz, Jakub Jozefowicz from 283goswell on Vimeo.

These students have used alot of foley for their sound.
- punching bag
- chains
- breathing
- pulse rate
- camera shot
we hear the punching bag before we see it.

Task 28: Analysis of a students use of sound

31. Pharez Vitalis, Eray Kara, Yuksel Yilmaz, Jakub Jozefowicz from 283goswell on Vimeo.

This is my favourtie previous students us of sound, because the sound used becomes very detailed and adds elements of suspense to the film. the student uses loads of non diegetic sound to make the film for exciting, for example the punching bags it helps set the scene as you hear the punching bags before you see the punching bags, this automatically tells the audience that the location is a gym.

This students use of sound has inspired us to addd in lots of asyncronous sounds when we come to editing our film, as it engages the audience. keeps the film exciting and helps create elements of suspense. Since our chosen genre if thriller, our sound has to clearly interpret to suspense, climax and anti climax throughout the opening title sequence to meet the general codes and conventions of thriller genre.

Here Non- diegetic sound is used, you can hear the punching bagged being punched, this matches the theme of the film (Boxing) and creates empasis on the main theme.
The students that created the film have been overall succesfull in engadging there target audience and meeting the codes and conventions of there genre youth drama.

Task 27: Audience profile

- Female

- Stubborn, talkative, confident and interactive personality
- hobbies and interests; going to the cinema, going to social gatherings and shopping
- brands the consume; shops in H&M, plays ps4, north face clothing
- media they consume; active users of social media mainly Instagram, twitter, Facebook and snapchat

Task 26: who is your target audience

Target Audience

Our target audience is young British People

- Males/ females
- aged 16-24
- London based as our film is a small local London independent film
- hobbies include, reading, socialising with friends, going to the cinema
- have a genereal intrest in thriller and teen films

The generic target audience for our genre of thriller is teens to young adults worldwide, we have decided to filter our target audience to being London based as our film has a small independent distribution company, will be mainly accessible to London based youths - not be shown worldwide.

A small independent thriller film that is similar to our is 'Uwantme2killhim'
'Uwantme2killhim' is a low budget small independent film, with minimal marketing strategies and campaigning presentations.

The target audience for this film is teens to young adults 16 to 24 that are Edinburgh based. the production company have chosen there target audience based on the low budget of the film and the small distribution company.

The production company as concisely aware that small independent films don't have worldwide target audiences and are likely to only be shown locally to where the film has been made and distrubuted.

The Pitch: Institutional detail Zainab

We aim to make our film small and independent, we have chosen this because our distribution and production company will be small and low budget, ultimately this will effect our range in target audience due to the genre (thriller) and our small institution.

There are many films that follow the same genre and have elements of our themes for example 'SHANK' and 'SKET'

SHANK action film, set in a dystrophic future London in 2015, where society has fallen apart, gangs have taken over and the economy is in complete anarchy. The story follows Junior and his older brother, Rager, who are in charge of a local gang, "The Paper Chaserz". They try to stay out of trouble and refuse to kill as part of their 'moral code', which is especially enforced by the strong but defensive Rager.

'SHANK' is a small London distributed independent film
it has a thriller genre and follows generic thriller conventions.

There are some similarities between shank and or film they are both London based and both have small independent distribution companies.
we decided do use SHANK for inspiration on how to conduct our promote our film.

The Pitch: What type of title sequence is it? Zainab

What type of title sequence is it?

We intend to have a narrative title sequence, to help make our opening title sequence easier and clearer for our target audience to understand and follow, this will include all the different credits necessary and the film title.

Many different title sequences influenced us to have a narrative title sequence, we was mainly influenced by the breakfast club, this is because the opening title sequence for the breakfast is all narrative, however its very simple and easy to follow, especially as the title sequence itself doesn't have very much information or detail on the story line, ultimately this helps to keep elements of suspense throughout the rest of the film, which would make the audience want to continue watching.

Another mainly narrative title sequence that has influenced our ideas is the title sequence to 4.3.2.1 which is a low budge British film set in the urban streets of south London, this film influenced our idea because of its unique colour schemes, the title sequence is in all black and white, only uses colour to enhance and make certain important features that then become key elements throughout the rest of the film, the colour scheme makes it easy for the audience to recognise these key elements, this therefore allows them to follow along with the storyline and pick up the subtle clues that are showed making it easy to understand.

The Pitch: Representation (Lea)

The backstory of ur movie is inspired by the 'Fallen' movies.

Our movie was inspired by the Harry Porter series. A child who thinks their is not much to life is suddenly opened to much more.

The main character is a teenage female who is really vulnerable. She is running from something that can harm her.

The Pitch: The FIlm (Lea)

The title of our movie is called The Redeemer.

Charley is a 19 year old girl orpahn. A fair hearted woman, abadoned at birth, spending her life growing up in care homes and under the roof of people who payed to love her. On her 18th birthday, Charley was woken in the night by a pain on her leg to find a R scarred on her ankle. Her parents were part of a hiden mystical life that lived in secret amoung the humans here on Earth. Angels. Only Charley was not a normal angel. She was gifted with the ability to send fallen angels back to heaven. She was the Redeemer. But is this a good or bad thing?

The opening title of The Redeemer is a chase scene in Walthamstow Forest that consist of our main character Charley trying to escape from an abnormal source trying to kill her. The sequence will end with an extreme close up of Charleys eyes opening to singingy if was only a dream. Then the title of the movie will appear on black screen credits.
