Genre
Genre tells the audience mainly what type of film they are going to be watching. For example if the genre was action, the audience will feel as if there were going to be elements of violence in the film. Another example is if the genre was Horror, there would be scary elements within the film, mainly that could consist of an Erie setting, or jump scares.
Genre categorises films, and puts film in certain groups, this allows for people to filter out what types of films they enjoy, and what kind of films they don't enjoy.
