Task 13: Analysis of codes and conventions

Camera
The opening title sequence of lady in a cage starts of with a establishing shot of the setting, to set the scene, this also helps with giving the audience an idea of the genre.
There are close up angles of the main characters.
Objects are zoomed in and out of to show there significance.
Editing
Black and white lines moving up and down across the screen mimicking the black and white keys on a piano.
Mise - en - scene 
The film is in black and white
Scene is set on a quite town road
Gloomy lighting on certain characters that are introduced
Burning cars are shown through the opening title sequence
Sound 
Dogs barking
The sound of car engines
A theme song is played through out had a slow repetitive beat (creates elements of suspense)

Macro Analysis
The key plot idea itroduced in the title sequence is something based around cars, fast driving and racing, characters are itroduced whilst siting in cars.
The order of the story line is credits at the start then we are introduced to the setting and main characters, the title sequence then ends with the film title and more credits.
Two men are briefly introduced sitting in cars signing a letter or document.
Groups of stereotypical upper class men are introduced, they are formally dressed in suits.
