Task 8, Favourite film

My favourite film is Southpaw. Its a heart warming story about a broken man coming to terms with the death of his wife. During the film, Billy Hope's (Main character's) daughter is taken from him due to his behaviour as a parent, and has to get back to his past life as a boxer in order to earn enough money to regain custody of his daughter.

The opening sequence shows Billy in a changing room before a big title fight that is about to take place. There is diegetic sound through, coming from the headphones the Billy is wearing during the shot. The title opening sequence was a narrative one. This is because immediately it is giving the audience information about the film, and what the film is going to be about... Boxing. The credits role showing the producers first and then the main film stars after. I feel as if the producer Antoine Fuqua was credited first due to the fact that he is immediately associated with big, successful films such as Training Day, over all setting a good expectation of the film, making the audience more inclined to watch the film.
