Task 15 why sound is important.

Sound is important for many reasons. It can drastically change the atmospheric feel of any film. Sound in horror films can be used in a variety of different ways, for instance slow dark sounded music can create and Erie setting, which overall makes the film more scary, because it adds and extra their of definition within the setting. Another way in which sound can be used within a horror film is to scare the audience. Within typical jump scares there is sharp sounds that make the audience jump, hence the term (Jump scare). More often than not within horror films, silence is used quite often. This keeps the audience on edge due to the the fact that they don't know what to expect, making it a good opportunity to jump scare the audience.
